PE Global is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for our semi-state utilities client. This is an initial 12-month contract, hybrid role, which can be worked from various locations around Ireland. Position Description The role/s will encompass all aspects of quantity surveying across a wide range of civil & electrical engineering projects such as Trenching and Ducting works, Overhead lines, High-Voltage Electrical Substations construction and refurbishment including both electrical and civil works.

Key Responsibilities Leading the cost management function throughout all project stages. Processing of Contractor payments and assisting in Contract Administration. Preparation of Framework Tender documents (which includes liaising closely with Procurement function). Co-ordinating Contractor Pre-qualification evaluations. Undertaking Commercial site audits. Carrying out analysis on historic projects and preparing cost estimates. Forecasting and monitoring of OPEX & CAPEX programs. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential/Desirable The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills:

Ability to make quality decisions and judgments. Effective time management. Demonstrate a logical, yet imaginative approach to problem solving. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible in all aspects of the role, including travel nationally. Strong negotiation skills. Strong report writing capability. Uphold professional relationships with both internal and external employees. Desirable Knowledge of the administration of Construction Contracts eg. FIDIC Conditions of Contract (Red and Yellow books). Chartered status in a recognised professional institution. Qualifications Essential The successful candidate will possess the following experience/qualifications: Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying. Full Drivers licence and access to car is essential. Desirable 5-7 years post qualification experience. Experience in Civil Engineering / Utility projects. Experience with SAP and experience in SharePoint. Advanced Excel skills and familiarisation with VBA Macros. Location Flexible – Locations at Limerick, Portlaoise, Finglas, Leopardstown, Cork or Dundalk.

Hybrid working will be a feature of this role, combining remote working with attendance at the agreed base location (options above).
