Position Title: Sustainability & Project Specialist
Location: Galway
Company Overview: Our client is a food manufacturer with a diverse portfolio of nearly 150 products supplied to leading Irish and UK supermarkets. As part of a multi-billion-euro group operating across food, restaurants, and property sectors, our client is committed to setting new standards in sustainability and operational excellence.
Position SummaryAs the Sustainability & Project Specialist, you'll report directly to the Managing Director and drive the company's sustainability goals, including EU and global certification. You'll lead and manage key projects across our manufacturing facility, enhancing environmental practices and optimizing operations for efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesSustainability Leadership: Spearhead sustainability initiatives that align with company objectives, focusing on environmental impact reduction and certification.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed sustainable practices into daily operations.Training & Development: Empower team members with knowledge of environmental improvement tools, fostering a continuous learning culture.Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and environmental improvement techniques, sharing updates and training as necessary.Project Management: Oversee projects from conception to completion across Production, Health & Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Technical departments.Manage Capital Expenditure and Sustainability projects, ensuring efficient delivery within scope and budget.Track and report on project progress and outcomes to all relevant stakeholders.Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain open communication across departments and with external stakeholders.Provide regular updates on project milestones and sustainability progress, building support for key initiatives.Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.Qualifications & SkillsRequired Experience: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Environmental Sustainability, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing, with a strong track record of project and sustainability management.Proven expertise in negotiating costs with suppliers and ensuring projects meet timelines and budgets.Core Skills: Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, and Excel; familiarity with ERP systems and AutoCAD is a plus.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with all levels of management.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.Detail-oriented problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
