The regulatory environment is rapidly evolving with global consensus on targets, scientific and technological discovery requiring ongoing evaluation and adaptation as required. In addition, the evolution of complex GHG accounting rules and voluntary carbon markets can directly affect strategy implementation.
To support strategy execution, navigate these evolving demands, and provide the expertise required to be agile and effective across the Group, Glanbia plc has established a sustainability team to track science, best practice, and regulatory developments and support business unit teams in developing strategies and solutions to meet our current targets, build future roadmaps, and support disclosure obligations.
Reporting to the Senior Sustainability Manager, the following are the key responsibilities of the Sustainability Reporting Manager:
Act as an SME for corporate environmental reporting initiatives delivering accurate and timely environmental sustainability disclosures (e.g. GHG emissions, Circularity, Biodiversity impacts, etc.) to meet regulatory and stakeholder requirements in collaboration with Glanbia functional teams.Review and oversee data consolidated at Group level in conjunction with the Business Unit (BU) Sustainability Data Controller.Support environmental disclosure assurance in collaboration with Internal Audit and third party auditors.Own development, updates, and sign off process of Glanbia plc Environmental related policies.Lead CDP and other specific environmental/carbon disclosures in collaboration with internal stakeholders and expert third parties. Work on corrective action plans to improve Glanbia's environmental performance scores.Support development of the relevant internal guidance documents, such as Environmental KPI Handbook and site level reporting operating procedures.Support environmental risk and impact assessments in collaboration with BUs and expert third parties (e.g. WRI Aqueduct Water stress assessment).Continuously work on streamlining environmental reporting in collaboration with ESG Reporting team via relevant IT solutions, such as Greenomy (CSRD reporting software), Asana project management software, and other relevant systems.Work closely with Glanbia BUs and the Business Intelligence & Data Analytics team to ensure robust sustainability data management and insights to inform decision making.Provide advice to the Group and BU teams on such topics as GHG accounting, food waste accounting, and other mandatory and voluntary sustainability accounting requirements.Partner with the Communications team to support storytelling on Environmental topics and turning performance reports and updates into engaging messages for external & internal audiences.The Skills you will bring to the team Ideal candidate will have a blend or one of the following qualifications and experience: A Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences or other relevant matters with substantial post qualification experience. Sustainability policy, process, and reporting experience working with external reporting standards and protocols.Strong understanding of emerging environmental sustainability policies, standards, and best practice.Excellent knowledge of GHG accounting and sustainability data management.Experience working with CDP disclosure platform, Ecovadis, GRI standard disclosures would be an advantage.Understanding of nutrition industry environmental impacts, including the challenges and opportunities of dairy processing and agricultural supply chains, would be an advantage.Excellent communications skills, ability to act as sustainability champion internally and externally.Good leadership and change management skills, ability to orchestrate work of cross-functional teams.Self-starter with an appetite to embrace new challenges that arise.What we would like to offer you!
