Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated SW Quality Engineer and Lab Manager to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our applications by performing manual testing, identifying defects, managing the lab, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and create test cases that cover all aspects of the product.
Key Responsibilities: Test Planning & Execution:Design, develop, and execute manual test cases to ensure product quality.Perform functional, regression, integration, and usability testing on software applications.Validate user stories/acceptance criteria and ensure they are thoroughly tested.Lab Operations Management:Oversee the day-to-day activities within the QE lab, ensuring all equipment, tools, and systems are maintained and functional.Manage the scheduling, prioritization, and execution of tests, ensuring timely delivery of results.Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality protocols.Monitor and manage lab resources, including inventory of equipment, test materials, and supplies.Bug Identification & Reporting:Identify, document, and track software defects in the bug-tracking system.Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot issues to provide developers with precise reproduction steps.Follow up on reported bugs, ensuring they are addressed by the development team.Collaboration:Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand the application's requirements.Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings within an Agile framework.Provide feedback on product design, user experience, and potential improvements.Documentation:Maintain detailed and accurate test cases, test scripts, and test plans.Document test results, prepare test reports, and summarize testing activities.Test Environment Management:Set up test environments as required for testing.Ensure test data and test environments are maintained and updated regularly.Qualifications: Education:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience:3-5 years of experience in manual software testing.Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).Skills:Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.Ability to create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.Proficiency with bug-tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.Knowledge of web and mobile application testing.Familiarity with database concepts for backend testing.Proficiency with API testing.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Knowledge of Electronic / Smart devices Manual testing experience is a plus.Attention to Detail:Ability to focus on the finer aspects of software to identify issues that may not be obvious.Thorough and methodical approach to testing.Arlo is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
