System Team Lead

Role: Systems Team Lead Reports To : Head of Technical Operations Location : Dundalk (Hybrid) Role Purpose: We are searching for a motivated and dynamic Team Lead who is passionate about leading high-performance infrastructure and application solutions teams.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to step up in their career path, transitioning from technical expertise to leadership.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Utilise advanced technical knowledge to analyse, log, track, and resolve complex software/hardware issues.
Manage technical issue escalations from both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring swift resolution.
Design, influence, and provide guidance to executive leadership for future initiatives and infrastructure decisions.
Plan, recommend, and implement changes and enhancements to the server/virtualization/storage infrastructure.
Core Job Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of various systems and applications.
Configure new and existing technology solutions according to best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
Lead the installation, configuration, and support of monitoring solutions across platforms.
Provide mentorship and leadership to IT Helpdesk roles.
Implement automation solutions for environments using software such as Ansible.
Diagnose performance issues with web servers: IIS / NGINX.
Manage systems like Cloudflare or other DDOS/bot mitigation systems.
Utilise central log management systems such as AppDynamics / Graylog / ELK.
The ideal candidate should be familiar with the following technologies: Windows and Linux operating systems.
VMWare (ESXi, vCenter), Citrix.
Scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell.
Database systems: Oracle, MSSQL.
Monitoring tools: PRTG, Cacti, Site 24×7.
Cloud services: O365, Azure, AWS.
Role Requirements: Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to technical challenges.
Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding support.
Passion for learning new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of new IT developments and their applicability to Boylesports.
Strong documentation skills for processes and procedures.
Ability to quickly adapt to changes, address problems, and meet new requirements.
Willingness to work Mon to Fri with occasional requirements outside of regular hours.
Participation in an on-call rota with the Technical Operations Team.
Very occasional travel.
Support hours work may be required during incidents (including weekends) to support business needs and on-call colleagues.
A full driving license and access to a vehicle is required.
This is a hybrid role.
