You and your team will work with internal Amazon service owners and AWS product teams to develop new services and solutions that give enterprise IT customers, along with those supporting public sector customers, more choice and self-service platforms that we offer our global workforce. You will build new solutions that raise the bar for security, automation, and operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities: Partner with customers, stakeholders, third-party vendors, and service owners to deliver technical solutions for complex problems. This may be in the form of new software, systems, infrastructure, hardware, networking or automation improvements, or a refactoring of existing solutions.Embrace the AWS ecosystem and drive innovation on top of it.Instill a culture that drives DevOps, holds a high-quality bar with code reviews, drives automation efforts to empower, and removes barriers for your team.Translation of complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.Hands-on leadership for your team; working with others on the engineering team to guide the day-to-day operations, resolve incidents and feature requests, lead development activities, collaborate on architectural decisions, participate in security reviews, and carry-out deployments.Build services that can scale across six continents for hundreds of thousands of Amazonians worldwide.Deliver quality features on-time and on-budget and execution against project plans and delivery commitments.Maintain current technical knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and work with management and development teams to evolve current processes.Due to federal contracts, this position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.Experience building services using AWS products.Experience managing Windows Server and Linux Server workloads.US Citizenship.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with Microsoft Exchange and/or PostFix e-mail platforms.Experience with E-Mail Security platforms such as Mimecast, Barracura, Cisco, Microsoft, or Proofpoint.Master in writing complex object-oriented code in programming languages, preferably Python and/or PowerShell.Experience automating and configuring systems using the Configuration-as-Code (CAC), Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC), and/or Desired State Configuration (DSC) in a large enterprise environment.3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.3+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.Knowledge of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FedRamp, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
