About the Role: We are seeking to appoint a Talent Development Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a Learning & Development Strategy for the Group which is aligned with the company's strategic plan and leading the L&D Team.
The Talent Development Manager is responsible for leading the organisation's learning and development strategy to drive employee growth and support business goals.
The role will lead the L&D Team to oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning initiatives to enhance employee skills, leadership capabilities, and organisational performance.
Based in our Head Office in Sandyford, Dublin with a Hybrid working model- 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Management:Develop and execute the organisational L&D Strategy in line with business priorities.Establish and maintain Annual L&D Business Plan and manage its implementation in line with budget.Identify future workforce skills requirements to remain competitive.Develop and manage the annual L&D Budget.Procure and manage external vendors.Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:Collaborate with senior leadership to identify skills gaps and customize training solutions that meet specific operational and leadership development needs.Proactively collaborate with Group stakeholders to diagnose learning and organizational capability development needs and design, develop, and deploy a portfolio of development strategies and initiatives to support business needs.Effectively communicate and influence senior stakeholders, ensuring their buy-in and support for L&D initiatives.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.Facilitate regular updates and feedback sessions with stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business goals in the Learning & Development space.Effectively communicate the purpose and value of L&D initiatives to learning cohorts.Work closely with the communication team to ensure all L&D initiatives and programmes are communicated to all employees.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of L&D programs.Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business and its strategic goals in engagements with key stakeholders.Work with the HR BP team and line managers to establish professional and personal development needs for their teams.Program Development:Design and implement programs focused on leadership, technical skills, onboarding, career progression, and succession planning.Coordinate succession and talent planning processes, in partnership with the HR Business Partners and Senior Management.Develop and implement High Potential program(s) for employees.Data-Driven Evaluation:Develop appropriate metrics that evaluate and report on the impact of organizational development and learning programs.Leverage data and analytics to identify training needs, measure program effectiveness, and inform decision-making.Evaluate the effectiveness of leadership programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.Measure and demonstrate the impact of L&D initiatives on business performance.Assess the effectiveness of learning programs through feedback and performance metrics.Produce monthly and quarterly reports on training activity.L&D Team Engagement & Purpose:Lead the L&D Team to develop and implement L&D strategies that directly support business objectives.Work with L&D Team colleagues to promote offerings to key stakeholders.Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve L&D programs, staying abreast of emerging learning technologies and methodologies.Lead change initiatives within the L&D function and broader organisation.
Build consensus and drive adoption of new learning approaches.Fully utilise and develop technology investments to support the immersion of L&D best practices across the organisation.Project Management:Lead and manage complex, company-wide learning and development (L&D) initiatives.Lead the team in collaboration with the project team to roll out a new LMS system.Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Minimum Requirements: Minimum of a third level qualification in a relevant area.8+ years previous experience in a similar role focused on learning and development, talent management, or organizational development.People management experience, with a strong focus on coaching.Strong project management skills, highly organized, able to manage multiple projects, and detail-oriented.Ability to work on own initiative - proactive, driven, and enthusiastic.Strong interpersonal skills - ability to influence and communicate effectively with people at all levels of an organisation.A high degree of flexibility, organisational skills, and attention to detail.Strong record in developing and implementing actionable L&D initiatives.Experience of in-house L&D delivery.Experience collaborating with leaders and the ability to develop strong working relationships.Experience in a fast-changing environment.Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong people skills in dealing with senior management.Some European travel when required.Learning & Development background that shows proven success as a thoughtful business partner and attention to detail.Tenacity to learn new things and think outside of the box.You enjoy solving problems and have immense attention to detail.Ability to deal with quick change and to drive change management.Competency in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions through strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to use data to support and make decisions, articulate the business reasons, and program ideas to the management team.Strong sense of urgency with the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.Mercury is an equal opportunities employer.
