Skills and AttributesFlexibilityCommunicationDescriptionTeam Member – An Cuan Regional Support Service The Team Member is a dynamic and varied role for both the nursing and social care professional. As a member of the An Cuan team, you will provide behavioural assessment, intervention and support to adults with an Intellectual Disability within the Cork/Kerry region, who have been referred to the An Cuan Regional Support Service by their primary service provider.
The team also provides relevant advice, consultation and training to local service providers/families and aims to empower individuals to develop a fuller understanding of behaviours that challenge and person-centred planning.
The Team Member will work across the Outreach Support (ACROSS) and in external community settings. They shall also be involved in the delivery of training and education to staff and family members across counties Cork and Kerry. Team members may be redeployed for periods of time to wider Cope Foundation residential/respite/day services as required.
Applicants must possess the following: A relevant third level qualification in Nursing (and be on the live register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or Social Care/Social Studies or a relevant QQI Major award or equivalent, if applicable.A full driving licence and own transportA minimum of three years' experience of working with people with intellectual disability and/or autism and challenging behaviourExperience of working in an interdisciplinary team environmentGood communication and interpersonal skillsGood team workerBe highly motivated and flexible in their approach to workA qualification in Behaviour Therapy/Applied Behaviour Analysis/Positive Behavioural Support/Cognitive Behaviour Therapy would be an advantage.
