Electric Square Ireland is our brand-new 5th studio. It has big ambitions and a forward-thinking approach to game development, following in the footsteps of its world-class HQ in Brighton. We are searching for a talented and experienced Technical Director to join as a founding member of the studio and influence the creation of a world-class team.
[Please note: For this role we are seeking applicants based in, or who are able to relocate to, the Dublin area] ResponsibilitiesA Technical Director at Electric Square Ireland: Gives direction and maintains quality of all technical aspects of the game studio.Manages and provides mentorship to all engineering and IT staff.Collaborates with the recruitment team, conducting interviews and occasionally joining on trips to build a world-class engineering team.Works directly with studio directors, game team leads and other Electric Square studios.Performs technical due diligence for clients, project development, and pitches.Takes part in client hospitality during on-site visits.Mentors through regular one-to-ones and appraisals for team members.QualificationsWhat we'd love to see from you: Five shipped titles, with minimum two as lead.At least 10 years working in the games industry.AAA experience is a requirement.Familiarity with a breadth of technologies from low-level programming through to cloud services.Experience working in a co-dev environment desirable.Experience working in Unreal required. Experience working in Unity and proprietary engines desirable.
