You will be working with the Core Platform team (Ireland) on next generation System-on-chip (SoC) for Compute, smartphone, IoT and other product categories.
You will manage and lead the development and prototyping of industry leading features across multiple device driver teams. The person taking up this role will be responsible for delivering critical embedded drivers and associated features requiring significant amounts of pan-technology contributions on products spanning all of Qualcomm's chipset portfolio on Mobile, Auto, XR among others. In addition to significant technical leadership assignments, the engineer will also be expected to design, test and document multiple drivers for internal and external consumption.
What are we looking for? SOC Development and/or Architecture Background, preferably in the Compute or Mobile space.In-depth knowledge of Linux Kernel functionality, device driver development and embedded systems architecture.Experience in C and Data structures, preferably in developing Linux kernel.Demonstrated ability to collaborate on projects with multiple teams and disciplines.Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills in Linux Kernel. Familiar with ARM CoreSight architecture will be a plus.Ability to develop and improve methodologies for experiments and analysis in the specific area of expertise.Have the communication and collaboration skills to work with a large world-wide design organization.Experience on Python/Perl will be a plus.Assembly and C++ language experience is a plus.Ideal areas of expertise may include: ARM and RISC-V Architecture expertise specifically in areas of Coherency, Signaling, Memory Management, Virtualization, etc.DSPs, CPUs (ARM preferred), High and Low Speed peripherals.DDR, Interconnect, System Cache, QOS.Power, Boot, Debug, Security, Access Control Architecture.Education requirements: Essential: Bachelors in Engineering (Computer Science/Electrical Engineering)Preferred: Masters in Engineering (Computer Science/Electrical Engineering)Where you will be working Cork has a proud reputation as Ireland's second largest economic engine and is now one of the Top 20 location choices in Europe with 39,000 people being employed by over 170 overseas companies.
