An excellent opportunity for an established and committed Technical Manager coming from the Food Manufacturing Industry to drive improvements and standards across the food manufacturing department.
We are looking for a leader who wants to put their own stamp on proceedings while also continually improving established processes.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversee the technical department, managing personnel and processes.
* Monitor and assess product specifications, ensuring they meet customer and legal requirements.
* Ensure all products meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and legal compliance.
* Implement and improve food safety systems (HACCP, BRC, and customer standards).
* Take ownership of audits and certifications, including BRC and other relevant quality standards.
* Develop and implement food safety plans, including hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP).
* Identify risks and opportunities for improvement within the production processes and lead initiatives to mitigate risks and enhance food safety protocols.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure raw materials meet the company's technical and quality standards.
* POC for customer technical queries, audits, and product specifications, ensuring all client requirements are met.
* Lead, motivate, and develop the technical and quality assurance teams.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the technical department.
* Aim to increase product quality and operational efficiency.
* Review and update internal procedures, policies, and documentation to reflect industry developments and changes in legislation.
* Prepare detailed technical reports, including trend analysis and KPI performance, for senior management and external stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate records of all technical activities, audits, and inspections, ensuring that all documentation is compliant with regulatory standards.
IDEAL CANDIDATE * Relevant Qualifications in Food Science, Microbiology, or similar * Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and other food safety standards.
* A proven track record in a senior technical or quality management role within the food production industry.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills a must
