Technical Manager

Details of the offer

Permanent full time (subject to 6-month probation)
Purpose This technical operations department arranges the maintenance and servicing of all gas equipment on a customer's premises pertaining to their Flogas LP gas supply. The department also manages the approval and training of gas contractors to meet customer needs.
Main areas of responsibilities Manage technical support department including office, engineering, and field staff.Develop and maintain familiarity with industry standards and codes of practice.Provide support to staff, contractors, and customers on technical queries and compliance with industry standards and best practices.Drive and support health and safety culture within the business.Project manage compliance projects on company assets in the field.Liaise with government authorities including CRU, HSA, and HSENI in relation to customer safety.Implement requirements and maintain safety licence for the supply of gas through piped distribution networks.Development of risk assessments and method statements.Contractor management including induction, approval, training, development, and assessment.Management of company assets in the field including LPG storage vessels, distribution networks, and auxiliary LPG equipment.Continual improvement on installation techniques through research and introduction of new equipment and processes.Development and implementation of company procedures, technical documents, and safety literature.Develop and perform gas safety training with company staff and contractors.Support sustainability objectives and products.Assist in maintaining quality management system in line with ISO 9001 accreditation and ensure company-wide compliance with the quality policy.Undertake additional related duties as required.Education & experience: Degree in mechanical/chemical engineering or similar engineering field.Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role.Experience with ISO accreditation beneficial.Experience in the energy or petrochemical industry would be an advantage but is not essential.Experience using CAD software.Full clean driving licence.Role specific knowledge / skills: The ability to work under pressure, balance priorities, and meet deadlines.A proactive positive attitude towards customers.Strong understanding and ability to support and drive a strong health and safety culture.Collaborative approach to teamwork.Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.Good clerical skills, together with computing, data entry, and analysis skills.Proficient in MS Office – particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of SharePoint preferable.
