About The Role Chartered Accountants Ireland is at the start of a journey to introduce new applications to service its Students, Members, Firms and other users.
This is part of a wider effort to improve and modernise user facing processes and internal ways of working.
This role is a unique opportunity to be part of shaping the future as well as implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform.
As a Product Owner you will have the curiosity of a Business Analyst when it comes to process and process optimisation, understanding the requirements and identifying improvements in how they are executed.
You will be well accustomed to working closely with business owners and assisting them in leveraging technology and structured processes to provide the best possible outcome.
You are commercially astute and understand the functional opportunities of the platform well enough to find the right solutions for the business in collaboration with a technical Solutions Architect where required.
The Institute has a Change Management team who you will also be working with to ensure all changes to processes in particular are embedded and prioritised.
As a Product Owner you will be a member of the Business Technology team and report to the Head of Strategy, Design and Delivery who in turn reports to the CIO.
As a Product Owner you will be part of a team of 3-4 Product Owners who are all highly collaborative and who take ownership for the development of all functional requirements while also keeping track of non-functional requirements in collaboration with the Solution Architect and our Operational team.
You will do this through collaborating closely with suppliers and stakeholders across the organisation including Architects, QA team, Operations team to ensure the solution delivers upon the requirements and meets the expected outcomes.
You are constantly reviewing the solution to find synergies and ways to optimise the user experience and the internal ways of working.
You are KPI and data driven and use this quality to understand what is important and what should be prioritised.
This Product Owner role will be mainly focusing on Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O but during the implementation of the new application stack may from time to time be required to assist in some of the other areas e.g.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE or PowerPages.
Once the project has been delivered you will be ongoing responsible for ensuring we keep improving and leveraging new functionality on F&O.
Key Responsibilities: Identify and facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to identify the business needs, key risks, dependencies etc.
Analyse the requirements against the functionality of the platform and find the best way to meet the requirements.
Work with the business to identify ongoing opportunities to deliver better customer experience or better ways of working in a structured manner.
Gather and agree with end-users the functional and non-functional requirements aligning them towards industry best practice.
Collaborate with stakeholders to agree and document detailed design and acceptance criteria for both functional and non-functional requirements and for project deliverables.
Execute gap analysis against proposed technologies.
Assume responsibility for planning requirements gathering and requirements management.
Organise, review and/or release of the documentation when required.
Support the development teams by clarifying the requirements and design.
Initiate the communication inside and outside the team to ensure effective implementation of the proposed solution.
Required experience & skills: Experience in gathering requirements for a large-scale application replacement project.
Experience working with financial applications MS Dynamics 365 F&O (preferred)or earlier versions of Dynamics AXor Business Central is essential as well as good understanding of functional opportunities and best practices in F&O.
Experience working with MS Power Platform and CE.
Experience in collaborative and data design with customers and/or end-users.
Experience in writing user stories and product backlog.
Experience with Business Process Re-Modelling & Notation (BPMN).
Experience with Scrum and Agile and ideally the ability to demonstrate thought leadership and coaching in these new ways of working.
