About North West Hospice: North West Hospice is an integrated specialist palliative care service comprising of an Inpatient unit (7 beds), a Hospital team (Sligo University Hospital), and community-based palliative care services (covering Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal, and West Cavan). The Hospice is co-located on the Sligo University Hospital campus.
Job Description: We are seeking a locum Palliative Medicine consultant to join the 2 current Consultants in providing care across the 3 services, including an on-call commitment. This locum position will continue until the successful recruitment of the approved third consultant post. The job will rotate through inpatient, Hospital, and community services. A new 12 single room inpatient unit will be opened in Quarter 3 2025. The addition of a third consultant will support these new 5 inpatient beds and also the development of ambulatory clinics in our community and Hospital services.
