Portiuncula Hospital provides acute and elective paediatric, obstetric, medical and surgical/anaesthetic services.
The hospital also has a 24/7 Emergency Department with over 27,000 attendances per annum.

The Paediatric Unit at Portiuncula comprises of 23 paediatric beds with 2 high dependency beds.
The special care baby unit has 8 cots in total with 1 of these being intensive care.

He/she will be part of a team based approach to the delivery of an efficient consultant delivered Paediatric service at Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
