AT is currently recruiting a Personal Assistant to assist a man with a disability to live an independent life.
iseanna Tacaochta (T) provides leadership and support to people with disabilities to live with the independence, choice and freedom they are entitled to.
For the first time in Ireland, we facilitate Direct Payments to people with disabilities, enabling them to take control of their own budgets, their own services and, ultimately, their own lives.Whilst your employment will lie with the A.T Network you will work directly for the person.
We act as intermediary between our members who we call Leaders and the Health Service Executive (HSE).
The Personal Assistant is required to assist a man with a physical disability in all aspects of daily living in his own home and out in the community.
The successful candidate will receive training and development in line with the role.

About the role: Position:Personal Assistant to work with a disabled man Location: Bettystown Co. Meath Hours: 20/40 per week Seeking: one full time person up to 40 hours and also a part time person up to 20 hours Salary: Basic €17 ph.

An Independent Living Personal Assistant Is: An individual contracted by a disabled person to provide them with the support they need in different aspects of daily living including, personal support, domestic tasks, assistance at school, university, in the workplace, or when out and about Key Duties and Responsibilities: Providing personal care.
Assistance with cooking and domestic chores, Ironing, cleaning, etc Driving applicant must have a full clean license and own car for insurance purposes for day time work this is also desirable for Night Work Fuel Allowance when driving with person in car will apply Travel and assistance when required including international trips and overnight stays Assistance to appointments and social activities Assistance with some non-intimate personal supports needs, e.g.
transferring from wheelchair To undertake other work that may be assigned from time to time such as note taking for work when required Core Competencies: Caring and compassionate Professional Commitment to providing the highest levels of quality service Reliable Willingness to learn when and if required Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative To have clean personal habits Strong attention to detail Highly organised Be flexible Good understanding of hygiene and food hygiene Openminded Previous experience in a similar role or completion of Level 5 training in Health and Social Care is required.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Ireland and be fluent in English.
