Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments) Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days pro-rata per annum Overview of the Post: Location of Post: Children's Disability Network Team, Lavanagh Centre, Curraheen road, Carrigrohane, Cork. Work related tasks may be required to be carried out in a variety of locations in Cork city and county areas including in clinical, home, community and school settings. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for 12 months from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled. Details of Service: Children's Disability Network Teams (CDNT) provide specialised support and services for children who have a disability and complex health needs associated with their disability. The CDNT supports a child's development, wellbeing and participation in family and community life. CDNTs include health and social care professionals from a variety of disciplines. The team works with the child and its family, sharing knowledge, information and skills to support the child's development goals as identified as part of their Individual Family Support Plan. Team members can meet children and their families in their home, school or in the CDNT's office. The Children's Disability Network Teams are charged with the delivery of an efficient and effective health and personal social service for a designated population in order to achieve targeted health outcomes within the overall Community Health Network. Each area has agreed "lead agencies" to manage defined Children's Disability Networks. Reporting Relationship: The Therapy Assistant will report to the Children's Disability Network Manager through the line management structure and will work under the supervision and direction of a nominated supervising Therapist as appropriate to the needs of the Children's Disability Network Team. Purpose of Post: The role includes clinical and administrative duties that support Therapists on the Children's Disability Network Team in providing a high-quality service to users. Overview of Duties & Responsibilities: Please see Job Description for full list The successful candidate will have Essential Criteria: Possess the Certificate in Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support with Occupational Therapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, or with Physiotherapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, or with Speech and Language Therapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) maintained by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). OR Possess a relevant healthcare qualification at not less than Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) maintained by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) and give an undertaking to participate in the appropriate Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant/Speech and Language Therapy Assistant training modules 1 and 2, within 1 year of taking up duty. OR Are currently employed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physiotherapy Assistant, Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Attendant, Multi-Task Attendant or in a comparable role for at least 1 year and give an undertaking to acquire the appropriate Level 5 or Occupational Therapy Assistant or Physiotherapy Assistant or Speech and Language Therapy Assistant training programme within 1 year of taking up duty. OR Are a graduate of a relevant level 8 health and social care course who is committed to ongoing continuous professional development. AND Candidates must have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role.
