Working hours are Monday to Friday, with a finish time of 4/4:30 PM and earlier on Fridays. A good benefits package is also offered.
As a Tool Maker, you will be tasked with the manufacture of jigs & fixtures for both new and mature product ranges on the site. The scope of the role involves the manufacture and measurement of the tooling made to verify it prior to delivering it to the relevant Production Engineer. This exciting position offers you a unique opportunity to support a talented team of engineers involved in continuous improvement projects and process development.
Responsibilities: Setting / Operating various machines such as manual lathe, CNC milling machine, surface grinder, and cutting saw to manufacture jigs and fixtures.Interpreting drawings and using initiative in deciding tooling selection and the method of manufacture.Generating new component part programmes with the aid of GibbsCAM programming software and subsequent prove-out of new processes.Verification of the manufactured components using appropriate measurement techniques such as micrometers, digital calipers, shadow graph, CMM, etc.Carrying out preventative maintenance activities and service support on production tooling and process equipment and logging data.Key Requirements: Applicants must have served an apprenticeship or have a MAMF qualification.You have 3 years of tool-making experience with expertise in using a variety of manual and CNC machine tools, including milling and turning.Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.Good PC skills are essential.You are competent in understanding technical drawings (BS8888 or ISO 128).You are familiar with geometric tolerancing, tolerance stacks, limits & fits.Desirable Requirements: A comprehensive knowledge of CNC machining with some programming knowledge is desirable.Expertise in the use of GibbsCAM software would be desirable, although full training will be provided for successful applicants.For more information, please reach out to Aisling at ******.
