Job DescriptionToolmaker - North Dublin.Ref No: DT18342County Dublin, Republic of IrelandCompetitive salary Toolmaker - North Dublin.Our clients seeks a talented Toolmaker to join the Engineering team.Job Summary:You will be tasked with the manufacture of jigs & fixtures for both new and mature product ranges on site.
The scope of the role involves manufacture and measurement of the tooling made to verify the tooling prior to delivering it to the relevant Production Engineer.
This exciting position offers you a unique opportunity to support a talented team of engineers involved in continuous improvement projects and process development.Responsibilities:• Setting / Operating various machines such as manual lathe, CNC milling machine, surface grinder, cutting saw to manufacture jigs and fixtures.• Interpret drawings and use initiative in deciding tooling selection and the method of manufacture• Generate new component part programmes with the aid of GibbsCAM programming software and subsequent prove out of new processes• Verification of the manufactured components using appropriate measurement techniques such as micrometres, digital calipers, shadow graph, CMM etc• Carry out preventative maintenance activities and service support on production tooling and process equipment and log data.Key requirements for this role:• Applicants must have served an apprenticeship or have a MAMF qualification.• You should have at least 3 years' toolmaking experience, with expertise in using a variety of manual and CNC machine tools, including milling and turning• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills• Good PC skills are essential• Competent in understanding technical drawings (BS8888 or ISO 128)• Familiar with geometric tolerancing, tolerance stacks, limits & fits• Competent with selecting appropriate feeds and speeds for different materials• A good standard of workmanship and attention to detail• A good knowledge of manufacturing process and finishing technology• A comprehensive knowledge of CNC machining with some programming knowledge is desirable (not essential).• A sound knowledge of manufacturing methodology to ensure that new processes are both capable and efficient.• Expertise in the use of GibbsCAM software is an advantage although full training will be provided for the successful applicant
