Job Description Senior Yard Assistant / Storeperson Busy Builders merchant in County Sligo is looking for a highly organised, responsible and capable individual to be part of a very busy team to help with the smooth operation of a builders merchant yard and delivery depot.
The successful candidate will be well remunerated for the job which comes with the following responsibilities: Responsibilities: Identifying customers requirements and ensuring orders placed are correctly conveyed to the customer in the yard or by delivery in a timely and accurate fashion.
Ensuring all paperwork is properly checked, signed and filed with office staff accordingly.
Utilising forklifts and other mechanical tools for the successful and safe completion of tasks.
Loading companys vehicles for outward deliveries to customers in a timely and safe manner.
Unloading inward deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
Manual loading of customer vehicles in a safe and professional way.
Storage of stock in a safe, professional and smart way to ensure easy and safe access by other members of staff Being responsible for ones own health and safety in accordance with company policy and being mindful of health and safety of colleagues and customers.
Behaving in a responsible and friendly manner towards customers to reflect the ethos of the company Skills and qualifications required: Leaving Cert (minimum pass grade) Good numeracy and literacy skills Forklift experience useful but training can be provided Ability to make good decisions Ability to work as part of a team Leadership qualities highly desirable Ability to work with management to solve problems.
