Leopardstown Racecourse, one of the premier racecourses in Europe is recruiting casual staff to support the grounds team in taking care of the track and delivering 23 racedays per year.
The casual role will primarily focus on raceday support, as well as repair of the ground in the days immediately after a fixture.
Role Purpose As groundstaff you will will assist in ensuring the presentation of a safe racing surface, jumps, and ancillary features such as stables and parade rings.
Key Duties Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the racing surface and associated areas Perform ground repair involving replacement of divots and filling holes with soil/sand mixtures Assist in the presentation of jumps, rails, stables and general grounds.
Perform other necessary duties as assigned.
Training and PPE will be provided.
Personal Qualities and Experience A can-do attitude, and the ability to work reliably as part of a dedicated team.
The role can involve long days outdoors in all weathers, so enjoyment of this environment is essential.
Basic horse handling skills and/or an interest is agronomy are advantageous but not essential as training will be given and roles will be assigned according to skillsets.
This employment is on a casual basis and opportunities are as required.
As racing is a seven-day business, flexibility in relation to working hours is required.
You may be required to work some weekends and evenings.
