Job Summary: The Trainee Process Technician is an entry-level position aimed at developing skills and gaining hands-on experience in process operations within a manufacturing environment.
The role involves learning to operate and maintain production equipment, monitoring processes, and assisting with ensuring product quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities: Participate in structured training programs designed to develop skills in process operations and maintenance.
Shadow experienced technicians to learn the fundamentals of machine operation, safety procedures, and process optimisation.
Assist in operating and monitoring process machinery and equipment to meet production targets.
Carry out basic process adjustments under supervision to optimize product quality and efficiency.
Work with senior staff to troubleshoot process issues and learn how to resolve equipment malfunctions.
Conduct basic quality checks and ensure products meet specified standards.
Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines, reporting any safety concerns to the supervisor.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with company cleanliness and safety standards.
Accurately record process data, maintenance activities, and any observations for process improvements.
Maintain proper documentation of training progress and assessments as required.
Contribute ideas to improve manufacturing processes and participate in initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving quality, and enhancing productivity.
Learn to identify and implement improvements in process operations over time.
Qualifications and Skills: Experience in plastics industry or extrusion is a massive benefit.
Interest in learning mechanical and/or electrical systems, with a desire to develop troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and engage in ongoing training.
Ability to lift [specify weight limit, e.g., 25kg], stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
Working Conditions: 4 week shift pattern rotation and work 12-hour shifts including nights and days.
