We are currently recruiting for a Transport Line Manager.
To plan, direct and coordinate the smooth efficient running of the day-to-day Transport operation.
Ensure all budgetary targets are achieved and delivered within yearly / 3YP Coordinate with MWP ROI Transport Planner to ensure efficient and balanced route plans are provided Monitor operational systems and schedules and implement cost effective routes or changes to processes to achieve maximum efficiency.
Ensure company compliance is maintained in line with transport legislation and procedures e.g.
tachograph, fleet management and Good Distribution Practice.
Manage Transport Support team to ensure drivers complete safety checks and complete paperwork.
Weekly checks to be conducted.
Maintain accurate and up to date administration records Lead, motivate and continually develop the Transport team.
Develop strong customer relationships to ensure issues are resolved Minimise disruption and resolve unscheduled delays Support Management in the strategic development plan for the transport function Identify operational issues and report to senior management Effective management of staff rota to ensure department resource levels are maintained Responsible for the KPI performance of the transport function and ensuring it continually meets company targets Produce clear reports on overall performance with recommendations for improvements Effective communication with all key stakeholders and departments to strengthen cross functional relationships Ensure all staff are fully trained and new starts complete induction process Complete performance reviews for all team members and offer support and guidance on future areas for development to retain the skill set required to meet current and future business needs Ensure that all drivers comply with instructions on LTS Support the management and collaborate with the wider Wholesale Transport team in identifying CSIs and delivering projects.
Experience, Skills and Education Proven track record of people management.
Proven track record of managing operation processes.
Strong Communication and engagement skills.
Flexibility to operate across shift patterns.
Experience in retail / foodservice distribution desirable Strong analytical skills and have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and/or stock management systems.
Knowledge of distribution operational systems and knowledge of specific processes in relation to H & S and HACCP etc.
Excellent attention to detail.
1-2 years experience in leading a team The ideal candidate should be a team player and have the ability to deliver in line with Company deadlines.
You should have the ability to work on your own initiative, be self-motivated and have a consistent work methodology.
Experience in a similar type of role or in a position that demonstrated the above skills will be an advantage.
