AtkinsRéalis is one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.
We are seeking a Transport Major Projects Manager for road, rail, public transport, and active travel schemes throughout Ireland. The candidate must be a Chartered Engineer and should have extensive experience in planning and design of major transport projects, ideally including giving evidence at Oral Hearing for EIAR and CPO. The candidate will join our growing highways and transportation business and will be based either in our Cork or Galway office, with flexible hybrid working available. The candidate must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working, flexible, willing to take on responsibility, comfortable leading a team, and possess excellent client management skills. The role will involve team building and leadership, mentoring staff, managing planning and design of transport projects throughout Ireland, delivering EIAR and CPO, preparing and administering construction contracts for public and private clients.
Desirable Skills / Attributes: Extensive relevant experience in a consultancy environment.Educated to degree level (Level 8/9).Chartered Engineer.Computer literate and able to work efficiently with Microsoft Office.Knowledgeable of relevant design standards and with the ability to transfer this knowledge into practical, buildable, and value-for-money designs.Experience of design and build projects.Experience in planning and design of transport schemes in Ireland, including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, procurement processes, contract administration, and construction supervision.Full Irish / EU driving licence.Personal qualities: Must be an excellent communicator.Must be able to deal confidently with clients, staff reports, and senior managers.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.High level of personal integrity and commitment to upholding company values.Flexible approach with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.Positive outlook and approachable manner.Highly motivated to achieve personal and organisational goals.Comfortable working in a team or individually as required.
