Transport Planner - Dublin 8

SUMMARY OF ROLE: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner for our Client based in Dublin 8.
This is a permanent position with good prospects for progression.
The role is an integral part of the core business, and is primarily responsible for the planning and scheduling of company resources (Transporters and Drivers) and ensures that customer service, efficiency and other operational/business targets are consistently achieved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Build loads (electronically) for collection; Plan and assign deliveries and collections to drivers (including route & journey time planning) and ensure all drivers are aware of their allocated job, giving full consideration to all health and safety regulations; Monitor units that could potentially be late and communicate to customers; Assist with the scheduling of transporters for service/maintenance checks; Liaise with customers, suppliers, and others as appropriate; Performance reporting to corporate customers.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Experienced in Fleet Management; Good geographical knowledge of Dublin & Leinster; Experience of Asset Tracking/R&M Software Packages; Strong process-driven individual with some familiarity on SAP, Excel, MS packages; Comfortable working to tight deadlines based on KPIs; Team player but can work on own initiative when required.
RATE OF PAY: Salary range €35,000 to €38,000 depending on experience.
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm with flexibility required to work Saturdays following Bank Holidays.
