Purpose of the Role: Support the Cork operation as Transport Team Manager based in Cork to support the drivers, cover their days off (i.e., driving) and support the Cork Sales Team. This role will involve 2 days of office work and 3 days of driving (depending on drivers' rosters).
Main Responsibilities: Ensure that transport operations meet legal and customer compliance requirements (RSA, NERA, legal compliance, site risk assessments, etc.).Cover the peak days as a driver.Build the capability of the transport team to lead and drive continuous improvement in line with strategic goals and objectives of the business.Keep accurate live logs of all work activity and employee issues.Drive the Health & Safety culture in the team.Build and improve customer service approach within the team.Develop a balanced approach to driving performance within the team, review and develop KPIs.Lead and motivate all employees by managing and monitoring all employee matters such as job objectives, appraisals, and reviews to best practice and agreed standards.
Be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective operation of the Keelings Select fleet.Support and lead the team to review and improve existing processes and ways of working.Complete a monthly summary report of the transport department's performance and issue it to the Leadership team.Cork-based fleet maintenance scheduling and record keeping.Experienced in route and driver roster planning.Core Competencies: Strong history of team leadership and development.Ability to work on your own initiative.Good knowledge of the transport industry.Team player.Leader/motivator of others/resilience.Excellent planning and organizational skills.Strong interpersonal skills.A positive and flexible attitude.Strong communication (oral and written), influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.Essential Qualifications & Experience: Experienced in the use of productivity tools like Microsoft Office, Google, etc.Experienced in planning multi-drop delivery routes.C license along with tachograph and drivers CPC card.Transport managers CPC is a benefit but not necessary.The post holder is required to understand and adhere to Keelings Values and reflect these values in both behavior and performance:
