Job Overview This role reports to the Head of Underwriting Governance and offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing implementation of FBD's Risk Management Framework.
Operating within the First Line of Defence, you will work closely with the Senior Management Team within Underwriting and play a key role in embedding a strong risk culture in the Company.
You will have proven risk and control experience with strong problem solving, influencing and report writing skills.
This is an ideal opportunity for a self-driven individual and offers an excellent remuneration and benefits package.Job Responsibilities Support CUO in management of UW risks including design of appropriate controls, control monitoring and testing.
Co-ordinate the submission of the quarterly Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and regular risk reporting.
Co-ordinating responses to compliance, audit or regulatory queries and actions.
Regular reporting on risk and compliance matters.
Co-ordinate the review of relevant policies / procedures in line with their review cycle.
Completing operational risk assessments as part of strategic initiatives.
Provide day-to-day advice and direction to the Underwriting department on risk management matters.
Assist in the development of UW, POG and Sustainability risk indicators including co-ordinating the submission of the quarterly impacts, risks and opportunities.
Promote a positive risk and compliance culture and awareness through the development and roll out of appropriate and tailored training for staff.
Ensure positive customer outcomes are considered in development of UW practices.
Job ResponsibilitiesEducation Minimum 3 years' experience in a Risk and Control, UW Governance or similar role.
General Insurance or Financial Services background desirable.
Beneficial qualifications-Certificate in Insurance Practice (CIP), Higher Diploma in Insurance Management (MDI), QFA, Professional Diploma in Compliance (LCOI) Experiences Strong experience in the identification and management of risk and controls.
Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment.
Competencies Highly organised with an ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Ability to work to deadlines and targets in a busy and demanding environment - can prioritise tasks under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal skills, e.g.
ability to listen, influence people and be assertive as required.
