Vascular Physiologist - Senior

Senior Vascular Physiologist Job Purpose: As a Senior Vascular Physiologist, you are responsible for the performance of diagnostic tests of the vascular system on patients to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disorders. Main Responsibilities: Perform a full range of vascular ultrasound scans, having a complete understanding of all such procedures and an ability to make accurate measurements. Communicate effectively with consultants, and GP's regarding patients' needs. Ensure the timely production and delivery of patient procedures Maintain required departmental records. Ensure that equipment is maintained according to manufacturer's specifications. Maintain infection control procedures to protect patients and staff. Keep up to date knowledge of all new developments in the vascular field. Perform departmental audits that feed into the organisation quality programme Contribute to overall service development as part of a multi-disciplinary team. ESSENTIAL: BSc in Clinical Measurement or Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street, Dublin) or equivalent. Or Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurements Physiology (IICMP). Requirements: The senior vascular scientist should be familiar with the techniques and range of equipment used in current modern medical practice for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients. Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience Good general knowledge of vascular scanning. Demonstrate clinical competence and relevant experience in a vascular department.
