Volunteer: Treasurer/Board Director With Finance Experience - Fnd Ireland

FND Ireland are seeking a non-executive director/trustee to join our board with expertise in financial control and accountancy for the Role of Treasurer.
While prior Treasurer experience is not a requirement, it would be beneficial.

About Us: FND Ireland is the first Irish registered not-for-profit organisation dedicated to advocating for and supporting those living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in Ireland.
We are an entirely voluntary national organisation with a committed team that plans to grow into the future and extend our reach to the entire FND community in Ireland.

Our mission is to advocate for better awareness and clinical advancements, promote research and provide support for those living with FND in Ireland.
Our application to be registered as a charity is currently under consideration with the Charities Regulator.

Key Responsibilities: Oversight responsibility for financial matters.
Provide recommendations to facilitate operational and board decision making in respect of finance matters.
Provide guidance and input into the budget process and financial planning.
Monitor and review financial performance against targets and budgets.
Provide guidance and input into financial control policies and procedures.
Provide support in the preparation of the organisation's financial statements.
Ensuring financial records are audited appropriately and comply with relevant legislation.
Assist with finance element of grant/funding applications.
Provide financial oversight for fundraising activities when registered as a charity.
Prepare treasurer report and present the accounts at the AGM.
To be a member of or chair the finance, risk, audit and governance committee.
General Responsibilities: Provide input into the strategic direction of FND Ireland including strategic assignments.
Risk management input.
Ensure compliance with governance requirements.
Monitor FND Ireland's performance and ensure that its work is evaluated.
Act in the best interest of FND Ireland.
Act with reasonable care and skill.
Manage the assets of FND Ireland.
A commitment to the mission and vision of FND Ireland.
Skills and Experience: To be suitably qualified for the role and hold a relevant finance qualification with at least 3 years of experience in finance/accounting.
Experience in accounts, budgeting and financial reporting.
Understanding of financial regulation and compliance.
Previous not-for-profit experience and knowledge of Charities SORP would be an advantage.
Strong problem solving and an ability to ensure decisions are taken and followed up.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Time Commitment and Meetings: Typically there will be twelve meetings in the year between board and committee meetings plus the AGM, with meetings being held online.
You will need to be comfortable committing at least six hours per month in this role on a voluntary basis.
