The Role:
An exciting and progressive role reporting directly to a SVP Project Management & Technology on the Project Management & Technology team, the VP, IT Business Operations & Governance will be responsible for providing IT expertise to support the company's evolving IT strategy.
Role Responsibilities: IT & Information Security Policies, Procedures, and Governance:Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing IT policies and procedures.Design and implement new policies and procedures aligned with best practice.Manage annual updates to policies and procedures, ensuring continuous compliance with industry standards.Generate comprehensive reports on IT metrics, providing insights into the performance of IT initiatives.Internal Application Support:Oversee and implement ongoing support processes for our proprietary in-house system.Liaise with vendor(s) and key stakeholders to ensure objectives are being met.Ensure ongoing development aligns with the overall IT strategy.Strategy & Planning:Support in defining the technology vision and strategic direction for the organization.Keep up to date on market trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.Act as an integral member of Avolon's IT Committee.Financial Management:Review and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of resources.Risk Management and Audits:Oversee IT risk management strategies, implementing controls and facilitating relevant audits.Vendor Management:Build and manage relationships with strategic IT vendors to enhance operational efficiency, ensuring appropriate IT Governance procedures are applied by such vendors.The Person:
The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail. They will have the foresight to anticipate future challenges and address potential risks and issues. This person will be self-motivated, holding themselves accountable, with an ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They will have outstanding communication skills, with an ability to influence and work with a variety of stakeholders (both internal and external).
Knowledge and Experience: Extensive experience in leading IT governance initiatives, developing and implementing IT policies and procedures, and implementing effective risk management strategies from an IT context.Proven track record of successfully executing IT change management initiatives, adapting to evolving business requirements.Self-starter who can lead change effectively, demonstrating a track record of managing multiple projects and delivering on key milestones in a dynamic environment.Strong drive for results with a focus on meeting project milestones and timelines.Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, able to develop and maintain positive business relationships (internally and externally) and meet multiple stakeholder needs.Highly motivated who brings original thought, challenge, and innovation to solving problems. Proactive about leading change and strives for continuous improvement.Strong and independent-minded with the ability to express your views with conviction, showing bravery in confronting established thought while recognizing alternative perspectives.Strategic mindset and proactive in anticipating challenges and shows an ability to think clearly and quickly through complex and dynamic situations.Keen attention to detail but with the added ability to review the 'big picture'.Ability to learn and master new technologies and processes.Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.What else do you need to know?
