Waste Water Treatment Plant Technician - Shift Contract Duration/Type:Permanent Location:Mulhuddart, Co Dublin Overview of the role; The candidate will work as part of a team to ensure that the wastewater treatment plant at a leading Multi-national Biopharmaceutical plant is operated on an ongoing basis in conformance with all relevant legislation, licences and permits.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the waste water treatment plant, ensuring the smooth operation of the sites Storm Water System, Firewater Retention System Site Drainage System, Site Bunds and site environmental sampling and monitoring schedules etc.
This is a full time shift day role.
Day to Day of the Role: Conducts daily environmental inspections in all areas under the remit of the contract Inspects, samples, analyses the Wastewater Treatment Plant Process and makes process changes when required to ensure optimum operation of the plant.
Laboratory analysis skills for a range of tests Provide accurate reporting as necessary including inputting and operating computer maintenance system Inspections, sampling and testing of site bunds contents and safe disposal of contents once sample results are known.
Liaise with site maintenance team in relation to equipment repairs and routine PMs to ensure no plant downtimes utilising the CMMS.
Investigates hazardous spills within the waste water treatment plant, gathering evidence, and retracing sequences to determine the sources of reported spills.
Liaising with third party vendors to ensure all monitoring required is carried out as per EPA licence/Owners requirements in a safe and complaint manner.
Laboratory analysis skills for a range of tests Conducts daily environmental inspections in all areas under the remit of the contract Issuing/Approving work permits for works to be carried out in the area.
Compilation and issuing of weekly snapshot reports and participation in daily OPEX meetings.
This is a Shift role (days only) requiring weekend and bank holiday work.
Required Skills for the Role: Level 5 FETAC or above course in Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations or a Degree in Environmental Science / Engineering The Candidate should have at least 2 years' relevant experience of water or wastewater treatment plant operations.
Waste Water Treatment - operation, maintenance, sampling and analysis, troubleshooting Knowledge of Environmental Monitoring and analysis.
Fully proficient in Microsoft office Knowledge of Environmental Legislation, Industry Guidance and Codes of Practice desirable.
Candidates must also be willing to participate in further training to ensure continuous improvements in knowledge.
Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) experience is desirable Knowledge in Environmental Management Systems - ISO desirable About Us: Veolia is Irelands leading environmental services company providing solutions that enable ecological transformation.
