Water Data Principal Scientist

Details of the offer

About The Role
Are you passionate about the leading role that data and statistics should play in environmental decision-making?
APEM's Water Science Division uses data to develop evidence-based solutions that allow businesses to better manage their environmental risks and impacts. We take pride in providing impartial, trusted advice to our clients and finding innovative ways to tackle some of the biggest environmental challenges of our time, with a particular focus on balancing environmental and socio-economic needs for water.
As a Principal Consultant, you will have technical expertise in applied statistics, machine learning, and statistical programming. You will be a highly motivated and organized self-starter who proactively keeps abreast of new developments in data science, with a demonstrated commitment to the professional development of yourself and others. You should have experience in analyzing and modeling spatio-temporal data using statistical and machine learning techniques, and be proficient with R or Python, Posit (RStudio), RMarkdown, and GitHub.
You will enjoy working independently and as a leader of project teams, demonstrating the ability to successfully manage and deliver projects while engaging with people effectively and professionally.
We also offer benefits to look after you, including private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health first aiders, and comprehensive income protection if you cannot work. We provide superb flexible working options, balancing work with your life.
Next Steps We are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive team. If you can't tick every box on our job description, we are still keen to hear from you and are open to supporting your development. This may include working part-time or supporting you to gain experience in a specific area – we are a growing company and can adapt roles to reflect individual skills.
If you think you have what it takes to join our fast-growing business, please apply immediately on our website. All we need is some basic information and your CV; we will review all applications quickly and respond to all applicants.
