Youth Worker To support LGBTI+ young people, aged 14-24 years, to reflect, document their life journeys through creative means.
Provide the tools to enable forward planning.
To provide LGBTI+ young people, aged 14-24 years, with the tools to reflect on their lives and how to look forward to their futures.
To support them to document their life journeys through a creative arts format to help with personal development and critical thinking.
Duties & Areas of Responsibility will include:Identify and recruit young people that are a part of an agreed target group through contact with all sectors of the community.Develop youth programmes that are engaging and attractive, utilising youth work approaches andmethodologies.To work on a 1-1 basis with identified participants asneeded.Adhere to required tools and templates while following the guidance provided toensureall workisrecordedanddocumentedcorrectlyandparticipateinthetesting of new tools, templates and guidance as required, connected to the recording of thework.Contribute to the development of a Logic Model to provide a high-level visual overview of the workfunded.Report writing, maintenance of records and other administrative duties, asrequired.Ensurethatyouoperatewithinbudgetsandmonitorprogrammespendinginlinewith Youth Work Ireland Meath procedures.Engage with prescribed target groups and develop appropriate strategies for individuals and groups - Planning, developing and implementing needs-based programmes/projects for youngpeople.Advocate for young people using youth participation methodologies as well as representing individuals both on formal and informalplatforms.Evaluating the work of the project using relevant project evaluationsystems.To ensure compliance with relevant quality standards frameworks in accordance with other Youth Work Ireland Meathrequirements.To undertake relevant training asrequired.Identify and pursue sources of funding for projects to improve services and/or resources for youngpeople.Actively participate in both internal and external networks, structures, training and events relevant to thepost.Ensureongoingcompliancewithorganisationaldataprotectionpolicyandpracticein all aspects of therole.Support Youth Work Ireland Meath planning and reportingprocesses.To prepare for and attend individual support and supervision on a regularbasis.To undertake other duties as may berequested.
