Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients.
Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious metals.
Is this role right for you?The Treasury Summer Internship is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple financial market products used in modern-day Treasury management giving you the opportunity to gain insight into the daily workings of the following areas:
Liquidity ManagementUnsecured fundingSecured fundingFixed income / credit portfolio management using bond and derivative positionsManagement of nostro account and daily cash positions using foreign exchange (FX) spot and forward positionsBalance sheet management:Interest rate risk management using interest rate swaps (IRS)Funds transfer pricing (FTP)Net interest margin (NIM) / Net interest income (NII) forecasting and managementPrimary/Secondary fixed income investmentsWhat can I expect from the internship?
Work closely with key internal stakeholders, i.e.
Capital Markets Sales & Trading and Debt Capital Markets, Market & Liquidity Risk (TFRM) Management, Finance and Operations to develop a strong understanding of financial markets and products, with the opportunity to apply knowledge to real-world situations.Shadowing dealers to learn risk management techniques and develop key deal execution skills.Completing projects set by the team which includes preparing market commentary, understanding the balance sheet and its risks, and other ad hoc tasks.Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities.Interns will have the opportunity to present to leaders within Group Treasury on a project of their choice.Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role?
We'd love to work with you if you:
Are a penultimate year undergraduate student graduating in 2026 studying a relevant degree (e.g.
Economics, Law, Accounting and Finance etc).Have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the financial markets.Have strong MS office skills, e.g.
advanced MS Excel, and can practically apply these to solve problems.Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.Have the ability to overcome challenges presented by a constantly changing work environment.How to apply:
