The RoleThe Financial Accountant reports to the Financial Controller and is responsible for the preparation of the Financial Statements based on the general ledger. This involves a good understanding of both accounting and finance to ensure the financial integrity of the Statutory accounts.
Key Responsibilities: Management of Weekly Accounts process to minimise Weekly to Monthly differences and provide explanations for any significant stock gains/lossesManagement of month end close process to include preparation of journal entries, accruals, general ledger, within strict deadlinesPreparation of Monthly Reporting Pack, P&L, Balance SheetPreparation of Fixed Assets, Capex and Amortisation schedulesPreparation of Prepayment/AccrualsInterco Reconciliation/Sign OffPreparation of General Ledger reconciliationsGeneral Ledger spend AnalysisProduce reports for the local site senior management team to highlight key business and operational control issuesBudget process supportPoint of contact for external Financial and Tax auditorsAd hoc queries and reports where requiredAs with all positions, due to the nature of our business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.The PersonSkills/Experience: Part Qualified/Qualified AccountantWorking knowledge of monthly reconciliations and identifying opportunities for development within existing control proceduresHigh awareness of current technical accounting and reporting requirementsComputer literate with good Excel skills with solid understanding of accounting software principlesStrong technical ability with financial analysis and reporting skillsAbility to communicate well both verbally and writtenExcellent understanding of operational controlsProblem solving skillsEffective time management, planning and organisational skillsThe PackageI have read and agree with the Leinster Appointments Privacy Policy.
