Accounts Assistant

BenchMark are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant in Co Kilkenny.
The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the accounting team with day-to-day tasks.

The Role: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including data entry, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Assist with processing invoices and ensuring timely payments and collections.
Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with Irish tax regulations.
Assist with payroll processing, including data entry, preparation of payroll reports, and responding to payroll queries.
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as required by the team.
Requirements 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within an accounting practice or similar environment.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and Irish tax regulations.
Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
