Accounts Assistant - Fixed Term Contract Our client, a successful IT Network Support company based in Plassey, Limerick is seeking a motivated Accounts Assistant for a fixed-term maternity cover role.
The ideal candidate would be someone with experience in a busy accounts role that deals with all aspects of accounts payable, receivable and credit control. The candidate will also work alongside the purchasing and sales department, reporting to the General Manager and the external company Accountant.

As Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the accounts department. Training will be provided on all internal company systems.
Responsibilities to include: Communicating via the company CRM System with all departments as necessaryDiary management via the CRM system and recording your time sheetVariety of Account Payable / Account Receivable functionsMaintaining relationships with customers and suppliers, written and verbalUpdating and maintaining customer and supplier records via company systemsMaintaining all electronic and manual filing for the accounts departmentMaintaining all agreements and platforms linked to billing processWeekly reviewing of purchases against sales for billing gaps in processMonthly preparation work prior to billing – application and licence checksGeneral knowledge of our quotations systemMaintaining up-to-date weekly and monthly billing; billing is completed from multiple platforms within the business and integrated back into Sage 50 for end of month process, prior training will be given in all aspects of billing requirementsMonthly preparation and completion of bank SEPA file for our direct debit processReconciling customer accounts and minimisation of outstanding amounts by using own initiative to resolve disputed amounts in a timely mannerPreparing aging lists and take pro-active actions on outstanding accountsPreparing and processing of electronic transfers and payments.Banking reconciliationAdministration of credit card statements and petty cash receipts, monthlyAdministration of expense sheets, monthlyAssisting with month end reportingSkills & Experience that we need: Business Degree with Accounting, Accounting Technician qualification or significant years of accounting experienceMinimum of 3 years' experience working in an accounts departmentProficient in Sage 50 or equivalent package. Xero accounts package an advantageAmbitious, energetic, and motivated individualHave a good telephone mannerHave an excellent ability to work well with all departments and the ability to work independently within the finance role and use own initiativeProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and OutlookBe trustworthy and conduct the role with integrityExcellent Analytical SkillsExcellent organisational skillsConfidentiality paramountPrevious knowledge in an IT company an advantage but not essentialThe Offer: This is a fixed-term maternity cover 12-month contract with salary expected to be in the €35K - €38K plus range, depending on the candidate's experience, with some scope for higher for an exceptional candidate, with benefits package.
This role is based on site, in Plassey, Limerick, and hours of work are Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm.
