Our client is seeking to recruit an Accounts Payable / Payroll specialist.

The Accounts Payable / Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions related to both accounts payable and payroll functions.
The successful Accounts Payable / Payroll specialist will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, maintaining accurate payroll records, and supporting the finance team in delivering timely and reliable financial information.
Responsibilities Process, verify, and record vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments and manage the accounts payable aging schedule.
Maintain accurate and organized records for all AP transactions.
Prepare and perform monthly and ad hoc payment runs.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and coding of expenses.
Prepare and process payroll for all company employees in compliance with relevant regulations.
Maintain employee records and ensure timely updates for any changes in salary, deductions, or personal information.
Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations and assist with year-end payroll reporting.
Coordinate with HR to ensure alignment on payroll updates, new hires, terminations, and other changes.
Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes.
Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable and payroll processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., IPASS, ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable and payroll functions, ideally within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.
Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation, tax, and pension regulations.
Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar), with advanced skills in Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, employees, and other departments.
