Description: Accredited Counsellor/Therapists are required for sessional work with the HSE Counselling Primary Care (CIPC) service.The following Locations are currently reviewing CV's:CHO1 - Cavan/Monaghan & 8 Louth/MeathCHO4 - Cork/KerryCHO5 - Carlow/Kilkenny & WaterfordCHO6 - North East CoastCHO7 - Dublin South West, West Wicklow and KildareCHO8 - Midlands – Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and LongfordCHO9 - North DublinWhat is CIPC?CIPC is the provision of short term counselling in primary care settings to medical card holders aged 18 years and over by accredited, professionally qualified Counsellor/Therapists and Psychologists under the governance of the HSE National Counselling Service.Successful applicants may also have an opportunity to provide trauma-informed counselling contracts to clients of the National Counselling Service for adult survivors of childhood trauma (depending on relevant, clinical experience).Qualifications and professional experienceAn applicant must possess;1.
A recognised Level 7 qualification (QQI) in a relevant human science discipline or equivalent in a health and social care profession or health related profession.Plus either 2a and 2b or 2c and 2d as follows :2.
(a) Hold a degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling, or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following, as appropriate:, the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) or a relevant body within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP).2.
(b) Have full accredited membership with one of the following: IACP or a relevant body within ICPor2.
(c) Hold a post-graduate qualification in counselling psychology or clinical psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI)2.
(d) Have commenced the registration process with the PSI or be or fully registered with the clinical or counselling psychology division of PSI.Plus3.
Have a minimum of two years relevant post qualification experience.
