Social care is at the heart of our care philosophy and culture for the centre therefore the successful candidate will be required to provide fulfilling social, cultural and recreational activities to meet the needs of the residents.
  Job Details /Benefits: Permanent contract Competitive rates of pay Career Progression as part of expanding group Principal Duties & Responsibilities: To provide a wide range of activities, to interest and stimulate the physical and mental state and well-being of the residents.
To understand the need of promoting the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment for all residents, therefore treating everyone with respect.
Support and provide guidance for the residents committee, ensuring all residents are represented, appropriate information is available.
Complete assessments on all residents on social care needs and maintain updated.
Complete This is Me booklets with residents and families and ensure all residents have memory box's, name plates on rooms with choice of picture or symbol.
To keep abreast with new developments in the field of caring for older people.
Foster good community relation and manage the volunteer program in line with the centres policy.
To assist the DON/ Social Care Manager in planning the homes special events such as summer parties, coffee mornings, etc.
Requirements: To have completed Gerontology/ Social care Degree or minimum of a QQI/FETAC Level 5 qualification or be currently undertaking their QQI/FETAC Level 5 in a Healthcare or Social Care discipline to include Care of the older person module.
Candidates must have experience in supporting teams assisting residents to live well and supporting normalised social interaction.
Candidates must have a proven track record with knowledge and experience in the older person care sector.
All candidates must have a good understanding of the current HIQA standards.
