- You may create or have responsibility to improve existing test tools.
- You are able to take a defined design and turn it into code and deliver it on schedule, applying appropriate technologies and current software engineering best practices.
- You write secure, stable, testable, maintainable code with minimal defects.
- You write test cases (not test plans) that are high quality, high value, and maintainable.
- You are familiar with device connectivity elements like WiFi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee.
- You reproduce errant product behavior to assist developers or other testers and identify, track, and accurately report defects found.
- You deep dive into the logs to identify errors and provide the failure analysis back to developers.
- You solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
- You have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
- You maintain SLA's through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting.
- You can set up and configure monitors to prevent prolonged outages.
- You have a basic understanding of operating system administration.
- You write and review accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
- You show good judgment and instincts in decision making.
- Able to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- You continually align your work with Amazon's business objectives and seek to deliver business value.
- You proactively and continually improve your level of knowledge about Amazon's business and relevant technologies.
- You regularly work across multiple teams to resolve issues.
- You communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with your team and with other groups.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 2+ years of software development, or 2+ years of technical support experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
- Experience scripting in modern programming languages.
- Experience in Unix.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with AWS, networks, and operating systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
