Applications are invited for the following Role in our Cork Services AREA MANAGER ADULT SERVICES, CORK Ref: 52/2024 Permanent Full time post (39 / 37.5 hours per week) The Role The Area Manager will be responsible to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day management and co-ordination of all aspects of the services within the Service Community.
The Service Community may comprise of various service types e.g.
residential services, day services, RT and outreach services.
He/she will have responsibility for ensuring that the Persons Supported are appropriately supported within a day or residential placement at all times and for line managing the local service centre managers within the Service Community.
The post holder must ensure that in keeping with the ethos of Service Communities, i.e.
that Persons Supported are enabled to reach their full potential, that options for progression are made available to Persons Supported.
The duties include taking on the role of a registered Person in Charge (PIC) or Person Participating in the Management (PPIM) where required.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Candidates must have
An appropriate health related 3rd level qualification at level 8 or above on the Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework in nursing/social care or health.
And Be eligible for registration on the Social Care Workers registration board with CORU from November 2023, must obtain such registration by November 2025 and must maintain such registration for the duration of employment in this role.
AND Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
OR Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.
AND For CNM III grade Have at least 5 years post registration full time (or an aggregate of 5 years post registration full time) experience of which 2 years (or an aggregate of 2 years post registration full time experience) must be in the speciality or related area.
AND Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development. If a qualified nurse maintain live annual registration in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) - An Bórd Altranais Possess a management qualification or working towards one. Have a minimum 5 years' experience working in the field of intellectual disability A minimum of 3 years Supervisory/Management experience in the area of health or social care The requisite knowledge, ability (including a high standard of suitability and of administrative capacity) and experience of the proper discharge of the duties of the appointment. A thorough knowledge, appreciation and experience of working with people with an intellectual disability and their families. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment Ability to lead and drive change is desirable Have a proven track record of clinical, leadership and people skills Lead role in planning and service development Experience of dealing with IR/ER issues Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment Accountable to: Sector Manager, Southern Region
