Assistant Buyer

Assistant Buyer Our client, a 100% Irish-owned national retailer is seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising the assigned portfolio's contribution to the profitability and market share of both the organisation and its customers.
This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of this dynamic business.

Package Generous salary doe Bonus Pension Hybrid working Flexible working hours Responsibilities of this Assistant Buyer job Overseeing the portfolio's product range, quality, and category plans to align with market and consumer trends.
Coordinating with product development teams to source and introduce own label products.
Collaborating with the Buying team to negotiate total purchase costs for the organisation and our Retail Partners for the relevant portfolios.
Establishing selling prices and monitoring product margins to meet profitability goals for both the company and its customers.
Cultivating strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and Retail Partners.
Supporting project development and roll-out within the category.
Experience required for this Assistant Buyer job A third-level qualification and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial role, such as Trading, Finance, or Supply Chain.
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication capabilities are essential.
Familiarity with category management principles is a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build long-term, stable relationships.
Robust commercial acumen is crucial, and a solid understanding of the product supply chain is highly beneficial.
Demonstrated analytical and communication skills, along with proficiency in managing commercial negotiations.
Project management skills are advantageous.
