Assistant Meeting & Events Manager – The Clayton Hotel Silver Springs We have a fantastic new vacancy for an Assistant Meeting and Events Manager in the excellent Clayton Hotel Silver Springs.
Objective of the Role Reporting to the General/Deputy Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for organising, planning, and managing the cost-effective operation in the M&E department, including the meeting room setup and the serving of all food & beverage products. The successful candidate will strive to ensure the guest experience is the finest possible. This position will include some Duty Management shifts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Manage the smooth running, organisation, and setup of all meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and related business. Lead and motivate a team and train and develop staff in line with company policies and SOP manual. Forecast and roster according to budget and business levels. Implement high standards and procedures. Maximise sales opportunities that occur within the planning and operations stages of the functions and events. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Excellent delegation, negotiation, and people management skills. Be target-driven and ambitious. Be creative and imaginative in terms of menus, preparation, and presentation. Computer literate with experience of using emails, reporting, and forecasting wages. Requirements: 2-3 years' previous experience in a supervisory role is essential. Experience in training, motivating, and managing a team to deliver the highest level of service possible. Experience with large and small functions from start to finish as you will be one of the points of contact. Excellent organisational skills. Excellent communication skills.
