The Associate Director/Director is responsible for the strategic operations and maintenance of Biopharmaceutical Process Equipment with management responsibilities of direct employees and/or outside contractors involved in the maintenance of production equipment.
A typical day might include, but is not limited to, the following: Leadership and management of the process equipment maintenance team with the objective of safely and effectively delivering the maintenance program in compliance with company procedural and regulatory requirements, meeting predefined program KPIs Strategic leadership of the process maintenance program to develop and implement maintenance strategies that align with business needs and to minimize down-time.
Ensuring compliance with GMP guidelines, industry standards and representing the process maintenance function and program during audits and regulatory inspections.
Continuously assessing and working to improve maintenance performance, implementing best practices to reduce downtime and enhance reliability of equipment Leading and developing the process equipment maintenance team, providing clear guidance, direction and mentorship Promoting a safe and positive working environment Leading and providing direction with preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.
Scheduling, tracking and ensuring efficient and effective use of maintenance resources to perform preventive and break-down maintenance Utilizing technical knowledge to support investigations in determining root cause of equipment failures and identifying corrective actions Leading and developing a team, including onboarding, training, performance management and ongoing development of team members Owning the development, implementation and periodic reviews of maintenance strategies and departmental objectives.
Estimating, reporting and managing the site expense and capital budget Collaborating cross-functionally and providing direction in the maintenance of manufacturing equipment to ensure equipment availability meets the manufacturing schedules Maintaining records according to company standards and procedures Developing and maintaining team skills/knowledge in safety, quality, shared values and technology to support department objectives Identifying, proposing and promoting opportunities to reduce cost while improving quality and compliance This role might for you if: You have strong technical, managerial and interpersonal skills.
You have experience with equipment reliability methods, including preventive & predictive maintenance, TPM, FMEA/RCM You have strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills to build and sustain a highly effective and performance oriented hourly team You are hands on and have supervisory experience with automated equipment and controls You have functional knowledge of Biopharmaceutical equipment maintenance You have functional knowledge in filling, packaging and labelling equipment maintenance You have knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen and 5s You have knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software (PM, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project) To be considered for this position you must have a Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree (chemical, electrical, mechanical or other technical field) or Master's degree and 10 years of related professional experience in a maintenance supervisory role.
