We have partnered exclusively with a Private Equity firm, focused on SME investments, to appoint an Associate Director/Director to its Dublin investment team.
You will become a key member of the investment team and lead on both origination and execution efforts.
THE ROLE: Lead and execute investment strategies with a focus on SME businesses, including deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiation, structuring, and portfolio management.
Identify potential investment opportunities through a strong network of industry contacts, advisors, and business owners in the SME sector.
Manage comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial analysis, market research, risk assessment, and valuation modelling to support investment decisions.
Negotiate and structure investments, including equity and debt financing, ensuring deals align with the firm's strategic goals and risk appetite.
Oversee the performance of portfolio companies, working closely with management teams to support growth strategies, operational improvements, and value creation initiatives.
Build and maintain relationships with investors, co-investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders to facilitate deal execution and post-investment support.
Stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and the competitive landscape in the SME market to inform investment strategies and identify emerging opportunities.
Prepare regular updates and reports on portfolio performance, financial results, and key developments for internal and external stakeholders.
Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on deal execution, financial analysis, and professional development.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
ACA or CFA designation preferred.
7+ years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment management Strong financial modelling and analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques, and capital structures.
Proven track record of successfully executing deals in the SME space, from sourcing through to exit.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience leading teams or managing projects with multiple stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of the Irish SME landscape, including key sectors, regulatory frameworks, and market trends.
Strong interest in working with entrepreneurial businesses and supporting their growth and development.
