Automation Maintenance Engineer Our Renewable Energy Business Unit currently has an opening for a permanent Automation Maintenance Engineer.
The role will be based at Edenderry Power Plant and will report to the Maintenance Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Automation Maintenance function to achieve maximum plant availability, efficiency and safe systems of work.
Procurement of appropriate spare parts in line with budget and operation of a computerised maintenance management system.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following: Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the generating assets.
All maintenance functions carried out under site specific safety rules.
Preparation of method statements and risk assessments for specific tasks; Recording of Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks into the maintenance management system, ensure Preventative Maintenances and defects are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
Recording and analysis of equipment maintenance history in striving to maximise availability of assets; Modify Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) automation systems as required and for new projects.
Ensure that all modifications to control systems are updated on electrical drawings, DCS drawings and to appropriate personnel.
Assist in compliance of Operation Technology (OT) systems with NIS2 directive; Ensure that the emissions monitoring system maintenance is carried out in line with procedures to ensure maximum reliability.
Maintain adequate stocks of strategic spares to cover breakdown of instruments; Install new instruments as required and carry out modifications to Distributed Control System or other plant control SCADA systems as required; Carry out modification to PLC controllers as necessary in response to changes to plant & equipment or operating philosophy.
Review and order spare parts as required; Manage the automation maintenance team and relevant contractors to ensure delivery of objectives and KPIs and liaise with other Plant teams to achieve objectives.
Liaise with automation contractors to ensure the automation systems are checked annually and updated as required; All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises; Lead and Performance Manage your direct report(s).
Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives; The Person: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes: Third-level engineering qualification and/or relevant process experience; A minimum of 3-4 years experience in a similar role; Experience in Maintenance of heavy process industry or power plants; Excellent IT skills, with a strong knowledge of Maintenance Management systems; Ability to manage a small team of technicians; The selection process for this role will include candidate screening from application.
