We are growing the Team based in our Kerry Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland and have a great part time opportunity available for an experienced accountant to join the Team based in our Branch office, Tralee.

Our Team of over 100 passionate individuals is supported by thousands of volunteers who strive to improve the lives of People with Down Syndrome in Ireland by providing a range of vital services and social opportunities.
As Branch Accountant, you will be responsible for the overseeing and the branch finances which will include: Key Responsibilities: Undertake book keeping duties to include purchase/sales invoice management Ensure sales and purchases invoices are posted correctly to XERO accounting system Process creditor payments and undertake credit control duties Prepare monthly bank reconciliations within XERO Reconcile all monthly transactions, income and expenditure.
Complete accounts to trial balance in line with DSI monthly reporting deadlines Support and develop Branch financial reporting processes along with preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules, for the 321 Shop, Deenagh Cafe, and the Branch Provide support to the Branch Treasurer where required Assist the Branch Committee with arranging therapies, classes and activities Liaise with DSI National Office regarding financial queries/requests Comply with DSI Financial Control policies and procedures Address and respond to all queries in a timely and professional manner Assist with statutory annual audit and liaise with auditors as required Assist with the completion of the annual budgets and forecasts Responsibilities with regards to Deenagh: Monthly Deenagh site visit to gather accounts paperwork Process all purchases invoices and income transactions Record and provide DSI with info required re VAT returns three times a year Provide Treasurer with monthly Deenagh Supplier payments Responsibilities with regards to 321 Shop: 321 Shop Cash sheet received weekly and monitored for shortages/ overages Monthly site visit to 321 Shop to gather till and cash sheet info.
Reconcile with weekly cash sheets.
Experience Required: High degree of analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills; Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and ability to work on own initiative Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team A recognised accountancy qualification Minimum 3 years relevant experience Ability to prioritise and manage tasks whilst consistently maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Proficiency in using Xero accounting Excellent knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel Hours & Location This is a part time role, initially on a 6 month fixed term contract, working 5 hours per week based in our Branch Office, Balloonagh Estate, Tralee
