Details of the offer

Role Overview: As our clients company continues to grow, the successful candidate, reporting to the Senior Buyer, will play a vital role in supporting the purchasing department in providing a first class procurement service to all departments, ensuring suppliers are performing, negotiating contracts and assisting the Senior Buyer in investment projects.
Responsibilities and Tasks including but limited to the following: Research and evaluate potential suppliers Negotiate with suppliers in relation to alternatives, prices and conditions Expediting and progressing of orders with suppliers Maintain a high level of service to internal/external suppliers Liaise with internal customers regarding order status Assist with supplier appraisal and monitoring Establish and maintain a good working relationship with suppliers, forwarding agent and courier Resolution of supply problems, general queries and queries relating to payment invoices Maintain an accurate supplier database Assist in the preparation of requests for quotation Develop knowledge of the materials being purchased To be conscious of costs and attempt to achieve savings on an ongoing basis Preparation and data entry of purchase orders Maintain the Contracts for purchasing related projects including drafting, negotiating, and executing contracts with vendors and suppliers.
Review and analyse contract terms, identifying potential risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
Assist with the review and preparation of the facilities management contracts.
Monitor contract performance and compliance, ensuring that all parties fulfil their obligations and contractual requirements.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Education and requirements: Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in in a similar position preferably in a manufacturing environment Hold a Supply Chain Management qualification, e.g.
APICS, IIPMM or equivalent.
Must have strong experience with ERP systems and be highly computer literate particularly with Excel.
Must be able to prioritize and organize tasks.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Good negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills Sound knowledge of supplier sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, liaising with suppliers) Able to work in a team environment and take a lead role on projects.
Able to work on their own initiative with strong problem solving and decision-making ability.
