We have a tremendous opportunity in front of us to build upon our strengths and develop an interdisciplinary planning, design and delivery practice that is uniquely Jacobs, that sets the direction for the industry and is home to the very best and brightest design thinkers, disruptors, technical experts, visionaries and storytellers.
We are seeking a CAD Technician to help deliver Active Travel design projects for one of our key clients, Dublin City Council.
You will operate on a Hybrid basis from our client's office and will work on local projects, whilst also interacting with Jacobs colleagues across Ireland, The UK, Europe and Globally.
As a CAD Technician, you will have the chance to work with our Engineering and Technical teams designing facilities for active travel projects including walking and cycling facilities, bridges, drainage structure, junction design and other transport infrastructure.
As part of the team you will support the development of active travel schemes from options development through to construction, producing document packages and schematic designs based on scope of project, design criteria, applicable codes / standards and quality control processes.
A full time working week with Jacobs is 40 hoursThis role enjoys a Hybrid working pattern but does require 3 days per week based on site with our client in Dublin city centreHere's what you'll need AUTOCAD experience in the preparation of plans and contract drawings in a professional team environment with experience in Traffic, Highways or Urban DesignExperience in associated Autodesk design software (such as AutoTrack and KeyLines)An understanding of design standards - MRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges) and DMURS and the National Cycle Manual would be particularly welcomedAn understanding of general construction practices and proceduresCollaborative approach with strong communication skillsPractical thinker with a good eye for detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret and understand engineering drawings and designsOur culture Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity.
